Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein (1879 - 1969)

Albert Einstein helped establish many creations to the world of science; for example, the atom bomb which completely changed the way wars would be fought and the amount of damage America could cause. He came up with many laws and theory that are used in today's world.

Early Life

Albert Einstein was born on March 14,1879 in Germany. In 1896 he entered the Swiss Federal Polytechnic School to be become a teacher in mathematics and physics. In 1901 he got his teachers diploma but was not able to find a job as a teacher so he accepted a job as a technical assistant in the Swiss Patent Office and in 1905 he got his doctors degree. In 1909 he became a professor at Zurich, in 1911 he became a professor of Theoretical Physics at Prague but returned to Zurich the next year to fill a similar job. In 1914 he became director of the Kaiser Willhelm Physical Institute and a professor in the University of Berlin. In 1940 he became a United States resident. He taught Theoretical Physics at Princeton for 5 years and retired in 1945 <ref>"Nobel Lectures", Physics 1901-1921, Elsevier Publishing Company, Amsterdam, 1967, 2/5/09</ref>.

Contributions

One of his earliest works was the theory of relativity. In 1911 he asserted the equivalence of gravitation and inertia, and in 1916 he completed his mathematical formulation of a general theory of relativity that included gravitation as a determiner of the curvature of a space-time continuum. Einstein is also known for his contributions to the development of the quantum theory<ref>"Albert Einstein" 2007 http://infoplease.com/ce6/people/A0857924.html 2/5/09</ref>.Einstein also developed the Brownian Motion, the Photo Electric Effect, Why Is The Sky Blue?, and the Bose-Einstein Condensate. In 1939 on August 2 Albert Einstein and other scientist wrote to the president of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt, before the World War II that they could purify Uranium-235 which could be used to make an atomic bomb. <ref>Mary Bellis http://inventors.about.com/od/astartinventions/a/atomic_bomb_2.htm 2/5/09</ref> He also established the law of mass-energy equivalence which is the equation-E=mc2<ref>http://instruct.tri-c.edu/fgram/web/mc2.htm 2/5/09</ref>. In 1905 he wrote his third major paper “On the Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies” and this explained the special theory of relativity.

Later Life

Albert Einstein died in 1969 April 18, in Princeton hospital. His cause of death was from internal bleeding, since eindtrin was a genius ..
