To achieve a consistent look on The Chemistry Book, each author and editor must ensure key templates are maintained on each page. These templates may be seen on the image to the right.

MediaWiki allows authors to include text from another webpage. This is achieved by the tag {{:PAGENAME}}, replace PAGENAME with the title of the article page. Additionally, just below the subheading include <div style="margin-left:25px"><small><i>Main article</i>: [[Helium]]</small></div>, replace Helium with the article page title.
