Dimensional Analysis

Note. Dimensional analysis is also called 'factor labeling.'

The units of a measurement are extremely important. We do not say someone is "6 tall" but rather "6-feet tall."

Complete the conversion of one unit to another is best done with the following five steps:

  1. Grid
  2. Units
  3. Equivalence statement
  4. Conversion factors
  5. Calculation
