Objectives

1. Students can identify the major lab equipment

If you decide to cook in the kitchen then you probably will use special equipment for measuring, mixing, and baking, i.e., a measuring cup, saucepan, gas oven, etc. The same principle holds true for chemists; that is, chemists also use special tools. Learning these tools will help you during a lab experiment as well as help you understand some of the math concepts.

Lab safety

Safety begins with you ! It's important to keep in mind what you are doing in the class, as well as your neighbor. Make sure that you download and read the lab safety contract before you attempt any activities in the lab. Also, keep in mind the simple rules of safety.
