The International System of Measure
Système International d'Unités (SI) is the internationally recognized standard metric system. The 11th General Conference on Weights and Measures (1960) adopted the name as the recommended units of measurement. [1] Sciences use the SI units and not the English units of measurement. SI units are composed of base units, prefixes, and derived units. SI Prefixes are added to the front of the SI base units. Derived units are combined base units.
