Le Chatelier's Principle is used to predict the effect of a change in conditions on a chemical equilibrium. Henri Le Chatelier suggested that when a system at equilibrium is disturbed, the equilibrium position will shift in the direction which tends to minimize, or counteract, the effect of the disturbance.
